The first ‘Uma Loja na Oficina’, the popup store powered by Velo Culture, in which DOME participated, finished last Saturday, April 7th.

The two brands have joined together in a partnership, unlikely for some, very natural for us.
Both Velo Culture and DOME have carefully and carefully curated the products they bring to the market. Just as they have similar and fundamental concerns about responsible consumption, design for durability, and the social and environmental impact of what they do and sell.

The opening of ‘Uma loja na Oficina’ which also marked the first appearance of DOME in Porto, was packed with people. There was an informal conversation on the topic ‘Conscious Design, Sustainable Consumption’ and Rita Cortes from DOME, Helena Antónia founder of Vintage for a Cause and Hugo Dunkel, founder of LOCAL. Thank you for your presence!

Who they are, what they do, what possible synergies, challenges, how to maintain a business that is financially sustainable and at the same time in balance with the planet, the people and resources available were part of the conversation that took 1.5h. (Thank you to all who showed up!) On the rainy afternoon, we shared opinions, worries, hopes and one (or several) Red Mosquito, the OPO 74 Brewing Co. craft beer made in Port from the best natural ingredients without chemicals such as dyes and preservatives. Cheers to you guys!

As a summary, here are some photos. From the talk, the 3 weeks of temporary store, our hosts, our new brands (5 new Portuguese joined the DOME family!) And the adventure of getting out of the online and being closer to everyone, literally. Thanks for everything!

The lens and the attentive eyes are of the dear friend Fernando Brito who photographed everything and everyone, always of torn smile. Thank you!

And by the amount of “thank yous” that we already wrote, you already realized how happy we are, didn’t you? The truth is we can only  be thankful.

Last but not least, a special thanks to the people who are part of the house ‘Velo Culture’ and who, with open hearts, welcomed us, supported and spread.
Like us, they believe that there is another way of being in business: they do not just sell bicycles, they are advocates of a more sustainable and healthy mobility for people and the planet. For all these reasons, we could not have started a popup store with a better partnership. It were three weeks of great company and interesting conversations.

If you want to see more, take a visit in Matosinhos (in the Municipal Market) or in Porto, in front of the Crystal Palace. Also check out their website full of beautiful bikes.

If you did not have the opportunity to see DOME our brands and products, during this stay in Porto, do not worry because we are already planning new moments of conversation, new brands to join the DOME family, new events out of doors. Stay tuned!
